Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

The short version: We don't track you, sell your data, or run ads. We built this site for readers, not advertisers.

What we collect

We log anonymous usage events — things like which books were looked up and what searches were run. These logs contain no personal information and no way to identify you. We track what is being searched, never who is searching.

When you vote on a spice rating, we store a small cookie in your browser for one year to prevent duplicate votes. No personal data is attached to it. To prevent vote manipulation, we also record a one-way hashed version of your IP address and a browser fingerprint. These are used only to detect duplicate votes and are never linked to your identity.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts or passwords
  • No names, emails, or personal details (unless you voluntarily contact us)
  • No third-party ads or advertising tracking pixels (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, nothing like that). If that ever changes, we'll update this policy.

Affiliate links

We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and the Bookshop.org affiliate program. If you purchase a book through one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site free for readers.

About our spice ratings

Spice ratings on this site are AI-generated using a carefully calibrated scale. We've worked hard to make these ratings as accurate and consistent as possible — but AI isn't perfect. If something looks off, let us know.

Children's privacy

This site discusses books with mature content and is intended for readers 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from minors.
